Lo Fatt chow and the Communitity
At Lo-Fatt-Chow, we believe in giving back to the community that we serve.
In the short time that we have opened in Hunterdon County, we have been privileged to
participate in a number of events supporting the needs of various events such as the annual
fundraising event for the Hunterdon Medical Centres Hospice program which gives personal care to
the sick at home rather than in a hospital environment. This is a very special program that our
community is fortunate to have. The HMC foundation works very hard each and every year and
as always, this is a smash event and just so much fun. We would ask that our customers to give our tips to
this worthwhile cause. If you wish to get involved, they would love to hear from you.
We also are involved with needs of the Hunterdon Counties homeless, The American Cancer Society,
Children’s sport teams, the Flemington Rotary organization which in itself, gives so much to the community,
Drug awareness fundraising and many more worthwhile causes that make Hunterdon County a great place to live.
All tips given at our restaurants are donated by our customers and given to the children’s diabetic program at the
Hunterdon Medical Centre.
Hunterdon County has one of the highest rates of diabetes in the United States.
The Hunterdon Medical Centre is working vigorously to educate restaurants such as ours on healthy alternatives
and we are thankful for the help that they have given us.
The Hunterdon Medical Centre has a very successful program (Sugar Babies) which helps children and their families where
everyone meets the third Wednesday of every month. These are informative discussions and these meetings are
facilitated by a Certified Diabetes Educator.
The Centre for Nutrition & Diabetes Centre also conducts a successful adult weight loss program through the
"Lighten Up Hunterdon" initiative program as well as a Kid's Weight Management Program.
